| Abstract | Several arrests of Jemaah Islamiya (JI) operatives have provided clues to the structure and tactics of this relatively small but active Southeast Asia al Qaida affiliate. But while the arrests of top leadership have been important, attacks continue. The author explores 12 causes for alarm in relation to the terrorist threat in Southeast Asia, which goes beyond JI.
